Friends:

Ooh la la! Mission Pipe Shop has planned something really special for this Thursday. Gene Emond of Graycliff Cigars will be at the shop between 5 and 8:30 p.m. offering the best deal you will ever find on one of the most desired cigars in the world---the Graycliff Grand Cru!

The Graycliff Cigar Company began production in January 1997 in Nassau in the Bahamas. The company was founded by the Garzaroli Family when Enrico Garzaroli fell in love with cigars but was unable to find that “perfect” cigar to complement what Graycliff Hotel and Restaurant has always been known for: excellent cuisine, fine wines, and luxurious accommodations. To that end, Garzaroli recruited Master Torcedore (roller) Avelino Lara, once Fidel Castro’s personal roller and famous for his creations at the El Laguito Factory outside of Havana, Cuba where he created blends for Cohiba and Davidoff.

Today, Lara has blessed the cigar world with several amazing cigar blends. Hands down, our personal favorite is the Graycliff Château Grand Cru (purple label). The Grand Cru is a seductive cigar with deep flavors. Powerful just enough to please even the most discerning smoker. Produced with super select and aged tobacco from Costa Rica, Honduras, and Nicaragua, this uniquely flavored cigar is well balanced and just plain classy. Released in August of 2005 this cigar was considered by all aficionados at the annual Retail Tobacco Dealers Association trade show as the best new cigar on the market and was compared to premium Cuban cigars of yesteryear. The purple double banded label signifies the regal qualities and splendor of this cigar. Our favorite size and blend is the double tapered perfecto called the "Salomon" but the mini pyramid called the "Scooter" is a close second.

The only problem with having these cigars in the shop is that it's hard to keep Ryan and Mark from smoking them all! Starting around $25 a cigar, these cigars are not for everyone---but ooooh are they good! One customer took one home and then called a few hours later to complain about his Grand Cru---he said it burned his mustache and the tips of his fingers! I couldn't think of a better "complaint" to receive about this awesome smoke.

Because of the price point on these fine cigars, we will not be holding our standard complimentary tasting. However, we will be offering some monster deals that you do not want to miss:

Buy 3 Graycliff cigars; get 1 free.
Buy 6 Graycliff cigars; get 3 free!
Buy a 24-count box of Graycliff Cigars; GET 10% off the box price and 12 FREE GRAYCLIFF CIGARS!!! This is OUR BEST DEAL EVER so think about buying a box for yourself or splitting a box with a friend. These cigars will make exceptional gifts to hand out over the holidays.

See you this Thursday and while you're there please talk to one of us about the 2nd Annual Mission Pipe Shop Golf Tournament. We've reserved spots for 52 golfers at Callippe Preserve in Pleasanton for Saturday, November 3rd. The price is $90 per person and includes 5 cigars followed by a BBQ back at the shop.
