  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Direct quote from a place that sells the cc version:

"A rather standard cigar with mild notes of toasted tobacco. Ideal to give to people you don't like who may stubb it out after three draws. Don't smoke this thing yourself. For goodness sake man....have some dignity."

That's ridiculous.

I really find it quite common among cigar reviews (and even in the cigar smoking community) that very rarely is there any middle ground.

A cigar is either the greatest thing known to man and will absolutely blow your socks off, or it's a pile of dog shit wrapped in a tobacco leaf.

I personally would choose the latter. When I got into smoking real cigars, these were the only CC's that were below $15, so I tried a couple. I almost ended up never smoking cigars again, it took a trip to the Caribbean where I found the Fonseca Delicias and fell in love ! The harsh profile I found in the Guantanamera cigars were nothing like any other "real" sticks I had after. To me, they are tasteless other than a wierd harsh taste...not good.
Last summer when the father-in-law bought a box and brought them home, I was unexplicably absent on the day they were handed out and smoked...heh.

This is really weird to me, because there was absolutely NO harshness at all.

I wonder if the earlier runs differ from what is currently being sold?

Wouldn't you like to know?
I have only smoked 2 guantanamerra's and that was years ago. I still think they are in the top 5 worst cigars I have ever smoked. That said who cares what I think. We have customers at the shop that buy them by the box and love them and who am to say that they have no taste could just be me.
