I cannot verify the truth of this, but i for one, do not doubt it to be true.

and i certainly don't put it past this administration or our gov't to do something so ridiculous.

The Obama administration moves quickly to beginthe elimination of our 2nd Amendment rights...

Get it while you can....

Georgia Arms is the 5th largest retailer of .223 Ammo in America .(they also sell 9 mm, ..45, etc) They normally buy spent brass from the US Dept of Defense - 'one timeused' shell casings by our Military - from training on Military bases, etc. They buy the brass and then re-load for resale to Law Enforcement,Gun Shops, Gun Clubs, etc. They normally buy 30,000 lbs of spent brassat a time. This week the DoD wrote a letter to the owner of Georgia Arms and saidthat from now on the DoD will be destroying the brass - shredding it. Itis no longer available to the Ammo makers - unless they just buy it in ascrap condition (which they have No use for).
BTW - The brass is NOWgoing to be sold by the DoD to China as scrap - for less money than Ammomanufacturers have been paying for the shells before processing todestroy. That sure helps the US economy now, doesn't it? Sell cheaperto China - and do not sell shells at all to a proven US business.Any agenda working here????
The Georgia Arms owner even related a story that one of his competitors had already purchased a load of brass last week - and the DoD contacted him this week and said they were sending someone over to make sure it was destroyed. Shell Casings he had already bought! THE BRASS HAS NO VALUE TO THE AMMO MAKER IF IT IS DESTROYED/SHREDDED/MELTED.HE ONLY USES IT TO RELOAD DIFFERENT CALIBERS - MAINLY .223 BULLETS.
Georgia Arms owner says that he will have to lay off at least Half of his60 workers, within 2 - 3 months if the DoD no longer sells their spent brass to him. He has 2 - 3 months inventory of shells to use. By summer - he's out.

You can read the info and see the DoD letter to Georgia Arms here:

It just never ends with this administration. Thanks for the heads-up bballbaby. I have been trying to find .338 Winchester magnum ammo with no luck whatsoever. If I could even get one box I would be happy. I even thought of selling some of my guns and some ammo. Now I am going to get as much as I can of both.

I have seen this before not too long ago and it would not surprise me coming from this administration and congress who are both very hostile to gun owners. This is why we need to support organizations such as the NRA. Also Montana has passed a law recently saying that guns that are stamped "Made in Montana" do not need to inform the ATF that they will be making these guns. This is in effect telling the government to stay out of the gun control area. The 2nd amendment gives us the right to own these firearms but nowhere in the constitution does it state that they have the right to regulate firearms at all. Since it is not delegated to he federal government then the issue of Gun Control (if it should even exist) falls into the hands of the state and the people via the 10th amendment to the constitution. Montana is gearing up for the court battle when it comes. So not only should we support the right to own arms we also need to support the movement of power back to the states for when the states have more power we as an individual have more power. Load up on ammo while you can still buy it because if they can't take your guns they will take your ammo.

How is it even surprising? I heard this a long time ago.

What gets me is that with all this energy conservation it takes more energy to destroy and then remake the brass than to just sell it for profit as brass.

Thank god that got overturned. I heard about it back a few months ago but that was it. It's comforting to see that when we write congressmen and senators sometimes it actually matters.

Hell the people won yesterday in CA. Their votes were not worthless as the gay marriage ban was upheld. It was the will of the people. It makes me sick to think that if the vote had gone the other way there would have been nothing to be said probably. However because the gays didn't get their way it went to the CA Supreme Court. Essentially making the citizens time taken to vote a giant waste of time. What the hell point is there in voting if the court is going to over turn the voice of the people? Luckily this time they did not.

Good to hear it got over turned, but I'm afarid that this is just the first in a series of end runs the current administration is going to try to circumvent the second amendment.

Coming from CA the whole Prop 8 thing was huge. The idea that the California Supreme court may overturn an amendment to the constitution of CA would have made the constitution itself null and void. The court is supposed to rule by way of what the constitution says, overturning an actual amendment would have been huge. Same can be said of our federal Constitution, it is going by the wayside.

- Cabela's has plenty of all kinds of ammo for online as well as retail store sale. See above link.

- The Socialist/Fascist/Secret Muslim/Nazi/Black Panther/Communist/Secular Progressive in the White House is not gonna take your guns away. Stay scared though, they prefer it that way (keeps your meat good and tender for when the gay marriage pro-abortionists come to turn you into free government supplied food for the reverse zombie illegal immigrant welfare recipients.)
