  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Good luck. My fav pipe stands are 2 pipe pipes stands I bought off a member. And i can't find any more like them. I just picked up a nice 3 pipe rack a a local where we had a long conversation about the lack of nice pipe racks on the market. Check these out. http://www.twocousinspiperacks.com/Home.html

If nothing else check amazon. Or flea markets auctions etc.

Antique shops are a good place to look, I've picked up a few there and you can usually pick them pretty reasonable. Or you and make one, about the only power tool you need is a drill, everything else can be done with hand tools.

I have thought about making my own pipe stand, but I would like to find some smaller pieces of hardwood to use. Any tips on best places to find some?

Look for custom cabinetry places. If you were home I'd say Woodcraft in St Cloud. They throw out massive amounts of scrap that may not meet quality for door/drawer fronts, but are still great for personal projects! I'd imagine there has to be something similar in Yuma.

Lowes sells 1/2" thick oak and poplar stock, a piece of 1x4 would do for the base with a 1 x 2 for the stem rest. Use dowels or a piece of the 1x 4 for the riser.

I just got this one from tobaccopipes.com
Nothing fancy, but for under $25 I figured it couldn't hurt adding it to my order. I actually ordered the all wood one, but they sent the one with the brass uppers.
It'll do until I can build something custom.
