Where can I find a nice hardwood tamper with a metal base? Nothing fancy...just round wood stock.

BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Have you checked with your local shop? I know a guy that makes his own by putting a piece of wooden dowel into a bullet casing. Simple and cheap (providing you have access to some bullet casings).

Two tampers from Ed James (Ozark Southpaw Pipes). One is a two-piece design made of walnut and brass. The other is a one-piece made of whitetail antler and a cut down .45-70 Gov't(one of my favorite rounds...I have two Marlin Guide Guns) spent brass.
