Headley Grange - UPDATE

I couldn't wait for my order to show up, so I picked up a couple Eminentes and Corona Gordas at my local today. Unfortunately we've got a feakin monsoon outside right now, so I'll have to be patient and wait til tomorrow

Fox06WRX - So glad you enjoyed...and I agree with you regarding the smaller RG. I've said it before and I'll say it again--the smaller RG (in this blend) focuses and intensifies the flavor profile.

I'm smoking an Eminentes this morning as I type this--ton 'o flavor and structure for a cigar that is 5 1/4 x 44. When I smoke a cigar like this, for the life of me I can NOT wrap my head around the popularity of the 6 x 60s, 7 x 70s, etc., etc.

When i first started i always was looking to get the most tobacco for my buck, if i had only known what i was missing, i think this is how alot of people see it. plus when uneducated consumers see cigars on tv or movies they are almost all churchills and big rg so i think that plays into it.

Without a doubt. I love sitting in the local B&M and having guys make fun of me for smoking "roaches" - no joke, I've had people tell me it looks like I'm smoking a roach when I'm at the end of a lancero - while they pick up the new 7x70.

Tried the Headley Grange, Eminentes (5.25x44) last night and was very impressed. I tend to enjoy the Nicas usually and was very pleased with the flavor from this Dominican. Very well done and I'll be looking for more.

Don't let the country of origin fool you--Headley Grange is manufactured in the DR (Tabacalera La Alianza in Santiago); however, there is no Dominican tobacco in that particular blend. The wrapper is Sumatra (Ecuador) and the binder/filler is all Nicaraguan.

Lots of discussion about the smaller ring gauges, but no mention about the Dobles? Would this be the mildest of the bunch? Anyone have feedback on how these compare to #4 or others? Thanks. :ccool:
