hit with an uppercut

got one of these from a noobie trade and was completely unfamiliar with it. no real info on the label, but it looked very attractive so thought i would give it a try while mowing the leaves today. even though lauren thinks i'm a cigar snob, i am a little hesitant sometimes about trying unknowns. i know what i like and don't tend to stray too far. even for a yard gar, i like to have something decent. not gonna smoke an opus like wade or a cohiba like aaron, but please, no dog rockets. i gotta say, this was amazingly good. nice dark wrapper and well made. smoked great, lots of smoke and stayed lit. i really enjoyed it. i looked it up and darned if punch doesn't make it. and, it's reasonably priced! i didn't mean this as a review, but just to remind myself, and maybe some others, that sometimes new sticks that look good actually are! thanks secretsquirrel.

Local B&M just got these in a couple of weeks ago. I have not had one as of yet, heard a couple good reviews. I just might fire one up later today.

I have smoked a few samples of the Uppercut as well. My take on them is that they are a solid if unspectacular cigar. Very smokable though if needed. Seems like General is pushing this new Nicaraguan Ometepe tobacco. They have it in their new Partagas Benji Menendez Master's Select as well. That cigar, though, I actually enjoyed for a medium-bodied smoke.

My son-in-law gave me one for Christmas and I smoked it tonight, it was a very enjoyable cigar. Plenty of smoke and very tasty. It sure as hell didn't taste like any Punch I'd ever smoked before.

It is a nc punch uppercut. My b&m has been selling them like wild fire. I have a few received from a bomb have yet to try one.

The Uppercut is a good stick. Try the Paratagas Benji and you will be surprised.
