In one of the wet shaving groups on FB, someone posted a recipe for making a bay rum after-shave tonic. I am going to try this but I can't decide if I will use the vodka as this recipe says or try an unscented witch hazel.
Anyway, I've not tried this yet but it seems like it could be good.
4 oz vodka
2 generous tablespoons light rum
Orange rind
1/4 teaspoon alspice
1/4 teaspoon ginger
few black peppers
1 cinnamon stick
3-4 cloves
9-10 drops of bay oil*
Let sit for 3 days, strain through cheesecloth, and bottle.
(*Word of warning - bay oil can be toxic so do not swallow this tonic)
