hey i am a new proud owner of a honda civic 2012... i discovered a red blinking led next to the speedometer flashing whenever i put the car in park mode and close the doors... is it some kind of fake alarm? i couldnt find anything in the handbook...

If you look up in the manual it is actually not an alarm but the anti theft system.
Most cars now a days have them. You should have a sticker on one of your windows that states it has an anti-theft system.

Nice car. I have the same one. Blue 2012 4 door. That sounds like the anti theft system for sure. I was really looking for a standard but they are really had to find when you only have a day or two to look. I have a heavy foot but I still can get 34-35 MPG's. I also don't use the ECO either.
Great car! I have a 2012 Civic LX 4 door and love it. That blinking light is the anti theft system as others have stated before. I use the car for work and I travel a LOT. the gas mileage is awesome with it.
