I'm sure most folks reading this remember the character Norm "Hoot" Hooten played by Eric Bana in the movie Blackhawk Down.
The real Norm Hooten is a personal acquaintance/friend. He just went into the cigar business...
Last week at the 25th Anniversary reunion of Task Force Ranger (the TF that was engaged in the BHD incident in Mogadishu, Norm passed out the first 200 cigars from his new company, Hooten & Young cigars. These are high end Honduran leaf cigars made in Ybor City, FL by a family with over 200 years of history rolling cigars.
He just got the website up. He wanted to wait for the reunion to be over out of respect before he announced anything. The cigar bands are dedicated to Task Force Ranger, and appropriately have 19 gold stars and other small things that those who know what to look for will recognize.
He is also in the process of designing custom boxes dedicated to the men of Task Force Ranger. A box of 10 will be $150. If you are interested go to the website and enter your email so you can be notified when they come online soon.

FWIW, Norm is a great American, and one of the most humble men you will ever meet. He continues to give back even today, working for the VA as Dr. Norman Hooten, doing his part to fight the opioid epidemic, and has been on the national news recently a good bit..
