  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

In spirit of the holidays, here's a recipe I like to do around these days.

2 quarts water
5 cloves
3 sticks of cinnamon
2 cups sugar
1 butter stick
2 cups dark rum
Whipped cream
Ground nutmeg

Put all the ingredients except the rum in a pot (cloves can be in a cheesecloth sack for easy removal).
Cook for 5-8 hours (the latter's best, but 5 is enough if ye're not too patient) over a slow-burn and with a lid.
Add the rum. Stir.
Pour into mugs topping with whipped cream (homemade is best) and ground nutmeg.

Simple and easy recipe, thanks Alfonso!

(do you use "unsalted" or "sweet" butter....or does it really make a difference?)
