This sounds like a good option to me, weather should be cooled off a little in a month. I'll add it to the list. I think next week I'll put up a poll and we can decide on a location.

I would love to swing down that way however that's in the week and I won't be taking any time off from this new gig for quite some time. If you get a chance to swing by Dallas on your way through to CA I'm sure @SailorAg, @btort @Ducttapegonewild and @BillEGoat and myself could show you some true southern hospitality

Wish I could but Dallas is just a little too far north for this trip...maybe another time.

I know it's quite a ways off, but are you going to be passing through Albuquerque, New Mexico?

Driving thru San Antonio, then El Paso (maybe stop in Phoenix) and straight to San Diego.

Porch Swing Pub has a great patio and is right by the interstate, so an easy choice for those making a cross country trip! I have spent many of my bachelorhood years as a regular at the porch swing, I am still close with many of the regulars and staff. I think my name may still be engraved on the bar. I agree that Petrol has a better beer selection, but that's it for them, beer and food.

Long story short, I'm in for Porch Swing!
