  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

How do you decide...

Just curious how others decide what to smoke when its their time. I imagine most of us have a pretty large selection to choose from, and even with my relatively small one I often have trouble deciding.

Time of day, whether I’m drinking, and how long I have to smoke are the influences that help me narrow it down - also I’m usually more inclined to smoke something I have lots of or something cheap if I’m not really paying attention to my smoke... outside of that, it’s whatever I feel like...

look around. look around some more. play tetris. look around some more. Leave for 10 minutes. try again. works every time! i tried forward thinking and dry boxed what i thought i would smoke. didn't work. too many in the dry box now.
Yup. Every damn time I pick out 2 or 3 to dry box for the next week, those sticks magically lose their interest to me but I end up smoking them anyway so as not to keep messing with their humidity any further.

Look through all the drawers, grab something from the first drawer I checked, cut it, take a cold draw change my mind and grab something else, go pour a drink, change my mind again, quickly cut this 3rd cigar, grab my drink on the way to the garage and light it before I change my mind again, enjoy the first half, then start wondering how good the first one woulda been.

I meditate for about 14 minutes before smoking, concentrating on the future of what the smoking experience will be. Then I walk to my wino, open it up, and close my eyes. I listen and the cigars speak to me. Once I know which one is speaking, I grab it out and then proceed to roll it between my fingers, ensuring they understand the fiery death they’ve chosen.

I only smoke out of my 40 count herfador. I try my best to stick to the top level. After a couple get smoked off the top level I rotate the lower levels up. After I have about 10 empty slots I refill the herfador.

Unless I am doing something special I am pretty good to follow that process and keep a decent mix of brands, sizes and strengths in the herfador.
