Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
This +1I crack the cap, but don't remove them -- I'm pretty unorganized and I'd never find them if I took them off
You should find this very helpful in what aging dose for a cigar and its rewards Aging CigarsI always wonder about that comment, "age properly". I agree the tubes may affect the proper moisture balance of the cigar, so I prefer to open the tubes and leave the caps beside them while they are in my humidor. I just never think about it from an aging standpoint. I always assume my cigars are aged as the producer intended before I buy them.
Do you age your cigars to even out the flavor, improve the burn, or for some other reason? I have not found that much difference between cigars I smoke today or in a year, so I am just curious. I will admit I always let cigars rest in my humidor for a couple weeks when I buy them online. I am not sure how the moisture level of the cigars has been affected by shipping, so prefer to let them sit before smoking.
