Only 6. I'm thinking Casa Manga must have really greased Marvin S to get that #1. If that's number one my taste buds are waaaaay off! I smell a rat...

I don't know how that Casa Magna made it as #1.... but then again, I do not work for Afficionado, and am far from an expert....
IMO... there are much better cigars out there, cigars that bring more to the table, cigars that do more for me.
I've had a few Casa... I was not impressed. I'd much rather smoke a Peppin Blue or a My Father.
I did not watch the video posted (will tomorrow) and this is only my .02 cents (worth about 1 cent actually)

Again I love the Casa Magna

Here is a video to explain their decision:

Hey, to each his own. If you like it, then enjoy!

But, according to Mott, Savona, et al, better than the 80th? Better than the MK? Better than a RyJ Churchill, Cohiba Siglo VI? Really? I don't think so for a minute.

I have heard their explanation, back when the ratings first came out. I think it's BS and CYA for a few reasons. One, there are better cigars...they even admit that the 80th was better. But they decided to consider price and determine some completely new subjective standard by which to compare quality to price. OK. While it seems to me that price should have nothing to do with it, even then there are many better comparatively priced cigars out there (of course, that is to MY taste: totally subjective).

There is no such thing as an expert who can give you some objective truth when it comes to matters of taste. The whole IDEA of the top 25 is nothing more than a marketing tool.

Bottom line, smoke what you like, no matter what some self appointed "experts" tells you is good.

It seems to me you get on their list by how much advertising you do with them, I have my own thoughts!

I have only had 6 of these. I have not tried the Casa Magna Colorado, but I have had the CMagna Oscuro ( Silver Label) which I really love. I didn't care much for the original CM which won last year.

I agree with that.

I put the sticks I tried in the following order. That Padron and the LG Chisel Puro are in a complete different class of cigar.

1. Padron 1926 80th
2. Litto Gomez Diez Chisel Puro
3. Casa Magna Colorado Robusto
4. La Gloria Cubana Artesanos de Miami Elegante
5. Don Pepin Garcia Lancero
6. Oliva Serie V Double Robusto
7. Rocky Patel Decade Torpedo
8. Alec Bradley Tempus Centuria

Thats why they make different favors of ice cream...not everyone wants mint chip.
