  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

After a few years of reckless abandon I have decided I am done for the remainder of this year and will only buy as many as I smoke going forward.

That means I can buy about 200 cigars per year.

- 5 each of what I consider the top ten releases of the year = 50 @ aprox. $500.

- 1 box of what I consider the most exciting NC release each year or two ten counts = 20 @ aprox. $250.

- 2 boxes of exotics = 50 @ aprox $350.

- That leaves 80 cigars to be purchsed off of the WTS forums and auction sites for aprox. $400

Add all that up, and these rolled up leaves will cost me about $1500 per year. That's better than the $7000 I've spent over the last 2.5 years but still gives one pause for thought.

If I can't stick to this budget, I have a problem. If I do stick to it, I won't feel uneasy about making the planned purchases. Since I was raised Catholic and may or may not have issues with self inflicted guilt, that will be more valuable than the money saved.

The damn problem is the buying and anticipation is as enjoyable as smoking the damn things.
What always kills me is the LE's. I always think "O man, Ive got to get some of these cuz they will never be made again and if they're great sticks Ill kick myself for passing on the opportunity." The funny part about this being that there are always going to be tons more limited edition sticks and I can just grab a few of a future release and its not a big deal. But hey, I'm a sucker with a sickness for cigars!

I really like how your budget sounds.

I said that earlier this year.

Then I started buying Habanos. Some JohnnyO's here. PSD4s there. Cohiba Robustos, Partagas Salamones, RASS, Bolivar Gold Medals, etc, etc. Yesterday I received a box of RyJ Short Churchills and some Partagas PSP2s.

I think I need help. :)

with every Oliva, the EMS Cains, any "bargain" cigar like Gurkha SHerpa, JR Knockoffs, JR Cuban knockoffs, and any woman who doesn't swa...no wait I can't put that last bit here.

oh and any RP Edge for the next three years. If I want a robust smoke I'll take the Patel Bros or the Warlock or Illusione's MJ 12 until Rocky's back in the plant.
