  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

It has not changed cigars.
It has changed comms about cigars, and some have tried to use SO ME as a tool to sell cigars.
It boils down to you still need to smoke one to be informed, anyone can parrot a bunch of media nonsense.......

I think its certainly changed things for me and I'm sure for many others in the same way. My stash has become way more diverse and stocked full of much better cigars since I joined cigar forums. I doubt I'd have found some of the brands and cigars I love without these boards.

Since the BOTL IS SOCIAL MEDIA. I'd say a lot. I am more informed, more aware and more connected to others as a a result of social media.

I've learned so much and made new friends in the few months I've been here. So I'd say this forum has helped me tremendously and also has drained out my bank accounts. BOTL has expanded my horizon on brand new and even older brands of cigars I'd probably never even think of trying or looking into at my local B&M and on-line. Plus, the brotherhood here is amazing. So I'll say it's a huge win at least here.

I joined the world of online cigar forums in October 2014 at the urging of @Horseshoe with a too full humidor of around 250 cigars, almost all purchased from CI/Ccom. Had never heard of Tatuaje, certainly had no idea what a Monster was, and Alec Bradley was my favorite manufacturer Now, as I celebrate the 1 year anniversary of joining cigar forums this month, I have a wine cooler that is over 5 feet tall and well on it's way to being fully stocked. Stupid thing probably holds 1,200. The majority of Tatuajes have captured me (certainly not all) and now they hold the lion's share in my humidor and the Monsters have drained my bank account. I've purchased or traded for lots of stuff I had never heard of before a year ago and have loved some and got to experience the others. @WNYTONY was my noob exchange partner and really got me started. @Jp1979 sold me my first Monsters. I've got to meet @04EDGE40 at a local cigar shop and have become friends. I've meet many other people from all over the US and Canada, and while I haven't met any of them in person, and not sure if I ever will, we send messages to each other about cigars, bourbon and other items. While Alec Bradley Maxx has always and will always be a favorite of mine, I've got many, many others that now occupy that spot as well. I hope some day to meet you (you as in all of BOTL) in person and share a cigar together!
