Hydra LG

Hey Guys,

I've read some mixed reviews about this unit but it was free with my humidor so I figured I'd give it a fair shot.

Anyone have any tips or tricks for it? I read some people don't use the foam it comes with? What do you use? Where do you get more foam? Any other tips or info would be appreciated.

I think some people use either beads or KL. I don't know a lot about that unit but I do not use foam in any of mine. I use KL. I am about a year in with really no issues at all.
It is all preference.

I use KL in mine also and have no issues so far about 6 months.

Ive got the Hydra SM... I replaced the foam with KL... no issues so far...

i don't have the hydra, but I have a similar system with foam sitting underneath a fan.
The Foam really is no problem. Every now and then I fill it with a 50/50 mixture of water and propylene-glycol. The glycol will prevent mold and/or bacterias.
After about a year or so, I change the foam for a new one.
