If you were to buy a new one, which would you get and why?

any popular brand will do the job, as long as you buy a Humidipak Calibration Kit along with it. I am happy with Heartfelts hygrometers.

I just bought one from Mark that is adjustable. I believe it's the rectangle one.

Adjustable, hands down. Until they come out with the adjustable remote. See my post on hygros.

Consider the Western III. They are inexpensive and extremely accurate. I have tested a couple now, right out of the box with a calibration kit and they have been perfect.

Apparently hygros have a limited life expectancy. I have been using a Diamond Crown hygrometer for the last two years and it has been spot on. Now, all of a sudden, it is like 6% off. :dunno:

Weird.
