The other week we had a heat wave in the Northeast. High 90's high Humidity. Well my coolidor is in the basement. It stays around 64 degrees down there, but the humidity gets high cause of the dampness in the summer. I run the dehumidifier daily down there. Except for the other week when the temps were high. We were on vacation and the dehumidifier was off. My coolidor went up to 66 degrees and 73% humidity. For the past week I have been trying to get it back down, but I have had no luck. I have left the lid open, tried leaving the drain plug open, removed the media no luck.

Now that its cool again, mid to high 60's. The dehumidifier has sucked all the moister out of the air. I figured I would leave the top open for a few hours to get the Humidity down. One problem, I forgot to close the top!!! So 36 hours later the humidity is at 56%. I closed the top and within 4 hours it’s slowly climbed back up to 65% where I want it. I have some new unopened beads that are 65rh that I put in. I did not add any distilled water to them. I hoping once them temps and humidity go up they will suck the moister out and keep it a little more steadier and if need be I can dry them out with a hair drier.

This could end up being a long summer if I cannot keep the humidity stable.

Yep, I'd keep a good supply of beads around, dry, so you could throw them in when the humidity gets up there.

Mine was fine during the fall/winter/part of spring...But when it's 60-70% humidity outside, it tends to effect the cooler.

I am always amazed at the high Rh in some areas of the country. Where I live 30% is huge and people complain about the wet fealing.

I'm holding steady at 67% but if I open the door to my cabinet, the RH does start to rise.

Curently 67% here as well. I ordered another 1/2 pound of beads nad one of Davids baggies to help with it. I've been fighting high RH ever since my last unbanded split.:sarcastic

RH is high here like most in the summer. The wine cooler still ate up a full Oasis Plus reservoir within two weeks. Oasis sits on the bottom shelf on top of a cab. It also sucks the 1 lb of 65% RH Heartfelt beads dry in about 3-4 days as well. Beads sit front on the middle shelf where the unit pumps in the cool air. Good thing though, the unit is consistently between 66-68 degrees and 62-64% RH on all shelves.

The backup mostly full 55qt cooler stays about 72-73 degrees and 67-69 % RH.

The beads work wonders for me in the summer. Just have to dry them out ever now & then.

I have to say these beads are great. My coolidore is frozen at 68%. Very nice product.
