  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I just received my Peterson pipe I won.

I won it on ebay for $20 w/shipping. Not a bad deal, and looks great. I cleaned her up today, and I can't wait to fire her up tomorrow. It doesn't look like it was used much.

Salt treatment is where you fill up the pipe and shank with salt, and put some alcohol over 140 proof in the salt. It cleans out the pipe, and gets it ready to smoke. Here is a video

Of course. Now like he says in the video, only do this once a year with a pipe. I do it when I buy an estate pipe. If a pipe starts to smoke sour or dull, you can again do this treatment again.
