  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I love the cabaigua

It's a Pete Johnson cigar, I think the only one of his NOT blended by Pepin. Then I'd agree with Moro, the LA Ricky is flat out fantastic.

I love the robusto extra and corona extra. The boxes I bought just turned 2 years old this month. Your post makes me want to dig them out and put in the caddy.

Which did you have?

I lovelove the maduro, and if you do too, then the El Triunfador is a must. I tend to prefer the 46's instead of the larger rings, but that's just my preference. I've also really come around on the Guapo's. I wasn't quite as keen on them, until I started smoking them as follow up to the Verocu. Something about those - one after the other, triggered something in me...

La Riqueza is very good too. I just can't decide which is my favorite, they really are all veryvery good.

I thought I didn't like these after my first one. Nothing bad, just too light for my taste. Thankfully I didn't give up there and have really enjoyed the 1/2 dozen I have had since. I suppose I learned to enjoy the subtle complexity I find in these sticks and initially I was just too obtuse to detect it. It is interesting to compare the 3 different wrappers here as I believe I can distinguish the filler from the wrapper best with this brand.

So are the upcoming Cabaiguans a "new release" of the same cigar, or simply this year's shipment of the same stick? I know that some people talk about how cigars can vary from year to year (like wine), but if it uses different tobacco that they would be another story...

Just wondering.

I had my first one yesterday and enjoyed it quite a bit. I plan on hoarking a box in the next couple of weeks.

On another Pepin note, the Cubao are surprisingly good. Damn it, the addiction grows!
