BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Dude? 17? How? the Monte A would/should be a 2.5-3 hours smoke. Not that herfs don't bring out the smoker in me, but at the most 6-8 I think at the beach herf last OCT. Other than that, less than one everyday for me.
That would only give an even more hot and bitter cigar.

i like to enjoy smoking more then one cigar, if I had a choice, it would be a short robusto size sorta like the davidoff short robusto size.
Kumar, I am not saying that ye shouldn't smoke more than one each day; I simply say that smoking them that quick will make it burn bad, thus giving a cigar that tastes bad, regardless of which it is. I just say it so one day ye take yer time to enjoy it and let me know how ye tasted the difference (that after a week of letting the tongue rest).

Holy heck! That is almost a box a day! 
Unless you are teaching smoke signaling at the Wigwam, I'd suggest the patch or nicotine gum and cutting down to less than 5 per day. Sounds like you might also need a different kind of distracting hobby that will keep your hands and mind occupied.

Cigars are meant to be enjoyed... They're not like cigarettes where you're smoking them to get your nicotine kick for the moment.

This publication is to date the most complete compilation of cigar research and health risks. NCI's conclusions regarding cigars and health are easily contested. But the papers they present should interest any student of the heath risks of cigar smoking. This monograph is highly recommended.
The relative risk values are the relative risk of occurrence of a certain disease compared to the general non-smoking population (which is considered a standard of "1"). It should be emphasized that the National Cancer Institute states that a "relative risk of less than 2 are considered small and are usually difficult to interpret." The NCI report then is encouraging to the moderate cigar smoker. According to the NCI the relative risk ratios of death are all less than 2 for smokers limiting cigar consumption from 1 to 2 a day for: 1) all causes of death, 2) lung cancer, 3) pancreatic cancer, 4) emphysema, and 5) coronary artery disease. Cancers of the oral cavity and larynx have higher risk ratios but are intimately associated with heavy alcohol use. "
I have been asked lately by a member what I thought about the effects of cigar smoking. This is the thread I was looking for. Basically if you keep it to one or two the health risks are minimal. At 17 a day, you know you are way past the norm and well into and past the danger zone. Sure today you feel immortal. We all did in out twenties. Trust me. It wont last. Its your life but wow you can run stop signs and get away with it many times before the semi hits you dude.
