I can't even imagine... I admit I couldn't sing the anthem, I can hardly memorize birthdays, but since I know this I would never be put in a situation like that.

I don't get offended when people sing the National Anthem poorly because it really is difficult to sing. But it totally pisses me off when people don't know the words, and when they don't try to sing. It's our country's official song and should be treated with respect.
