  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I won some goodies!

On Thursday, I went to an event at Heroes & Legacies in Austin for Eric Stokkebye's 4th Generation which coincided with a meeting of the Austin Pipe Club. Mr. Stokkebye is really nice guy. I bought a tin of his 1957 blend and he signed it for me!

Shortly after buying the tin, I was approached by one of the club members offering to sell me a ticket for their charity raffle. The raffle supported Toy Runners who this year was serving the Baptist Children's House in Round Rock, TX. I promptly bought two tickets, hardly even noticing the actual basket.

An hour or so later, they started the evening's raffles with the club's charity basket. I was in the back talking to some folks and wasn't even paying attention. Only after they called out the number for the third time, did I bother to check my ticket, and holy guacamole! I had won!

The basket contained twelve different tobaccos, two pipes, a lighter and a $50 gift card to Heroes & Legacies.

I would to thank Heroes and Legacies, The Austin Pipe Club and Eric Stokkebeye for putting such a wonderful event. The donations for the basket were extremely generous and I believe that the club was able to raise several hundred dollars for Toy Runners. I've been hoping to acquire a Savinelli pipe for some time, and now all of a sudden, I have two!

So much tobacco, I don't know where to start! I'm pretty sure I'll be good for baccy for at least the next year (unless I make some bombing raids...)

Though, it'll be a few days until I'm able to enjoy any of these wonderful items because I'm recovering from a minor surgical procedure (a sinuplasty). Until then, I'm going to salivating over all of it.

Official photos of the event are now on Facebook.
