That looks amazing Dave... you don't happen to know how to make Rum Raisin? If I was given the following choice: give up ice cream or give up cigars? It would be a difficult one... love it brother. And Andy's Custard is really good too!
No I dont. I havent ventured away from vanilla yet. I dont have much time to make it usually so I always go with what I know cuz I know I love it. Ice Cream is my fav food group. Just above Bacon.
Well dude, maybe it's time to make some bacon ice cream. :thinkidea

Do it! With some quality chocolate bits as well. Chocolate lends itself quite nicely to bacon. If you ever see a Vosges Chocolate Bacon Bar, splurge once and give it a shot. It's crazy the flavors you get breaking off a little piece and letting it melt between your tongue and the roof of your mouth!

Love home ade ice cream and it started out as a kid when I would use those old style crank types. What made it more delicious was the fact I did by hand. Now that they have the ones that you plug in the process is too easy and the only thing that matters is the right recipe and the one I use is about 50 years old and always satisfies. I bought two of the Cuisinart machines that make the process so easy it's almost foolproof and I make ice cream at least twice a week and have 2 of those machines going. I do like one store bought ice cream...Blue Bell...but that's the only one that actually tastes close to homeade but at the end of the day I can make a gallon of my own for half of what it costs to buy.
