  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I would smoke in a dedicated room only. I don't want the whole house smelling like cigars.
Kinda like above. I am not allowed with the child and wife saying no way. Even if I could with a deticated room it would be rarely if ever due to stale odor that is foul. I would smoke more inside during winter and maybe never during summer.
What they said.

I smoke in the house. I only smoke about 3 - 4 sticks a week these days due to so much O.T. and wifey does not mind the smell. I do stand or sit near the front door, with it open, (we do have a screen door) out of respect for her and the casa. As she says: "It is your house too. . ." She says the house smells fine. Going on 26 years of wedded bliss. . .

ETA: She recently told me that she would love for me to have a "man cave" for smoking/drinking with the boys. . .What a gal! Our current house is too small though. . .Hmmm. . .must make plans. . .

I installed a through the wall ventilation fan by my desk.
That is the room I smoke cigars in. There is no way I would smoke outside, it rains all the time here. During the winter, the monsoon season starts in October and doesn't stop until May. So, unless I want to smoke soggy cigars, I don't have much of a choice.

The fan is one of those high "cfm" fans. There is a switch on the wall by my desk. Sometimes, I would prefer one of those less noisy fans, but it wouldn't move the volume of air this one does.
Plus, the fan noise really isn't that noticeable, unless someone is across the room.

I'm forutunate to have a bride that doesn't mind me smoking in the house, provided that there is some way to ventilate it, so I made it so there was.
And occasionally, I have to smoke a Moontrance to keep her happy.

I would rather get my ass off the couch and go in the garage, poke around the cars, or take the dogs in the backyard and enjoy watching them play...

I close on my new home on Feb 8 and move in Feb 9. I have a side room built especially (and only) for me. It is only 9x11 but will be equipped with 42" plasma, leather futon (for those dog days), a new cabinet humidor (empty for now) and whatever other crap I can fit in there. Oh, and yes, I WILL be smoking in there.

I just bought my first house, so this has been a big decision for me.

One part of me says - Hey, you work hard to pay for this house, its your house, do what you want!

But then that damned other part in me says otherwise.

I think I'll end up in the garage, with a nice flat screen to watch (I'm not exactly the type to have a garage full of tools, work benches, ect)

My apartment is not that big. I hae a balcony i smoke on, but it's too cold now. So now, it's a dog walk, the bar, or my car (occasioanlly, i am reluctant to make it smell too much in there since i give lots of rides).

One of our local B&M owners put one in his den at home. Put in an excellent ventilation system, had the walls sealed and leather furniture. It was excellent. He used it for a year until he got married. She said no more. He reverted back, had it cleaned and there was no residual problems. It is all in the preparation.
