  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

If you could smoke in your home..

I live in an apartment with another cigar smoker. I got a lampe berger and a small tower air cleaner for this winter. We tried smoking in the living room last night for the first time. Some residual smell in the living room this morning, even with an exhaust fan going while we smoked and the air cleaner running all night. I think the key would be to have wood or tile floors and leather furniture, not carpet and cloth chairs! Probably not going to be a frequent thing, but maybe nice to do once in a while. It should be warm enough to smoke outside most days in about a month.

One of our local B&M owners put one in his den at home. Put in an excellent ventilation system, had the walls sealed and leather furniture. It was excellent. He used it for a year until he got married. She said no more. He reverted back, had it cleaned and there was no residual problems. It is all in the preparation.
I trust he turned in his man card after this. . .:hysterica

I'm sure he did, but it got swapped for a "I get laid every day" card. I love being married.
Interesting perspective. . .I also love being married and neither of us :)lady: ) had to swap anything. . .:glassesgr. . .which was of course, my point. As a long time observer of human nature, I have seen that type of swap have many negative ramifications down the road. . .I hope it works out for him.

I only smoke cigars 1-2 days a week and I do so inside. My house is a typical New England rowhouse with 3 levels. The third floor is one large open room and I have it set up like a cigar lounge with an exhaust fan in the window. Since it is on the third floor and smoke always rises, most of the smoke stays there and doesn't spread to the rest of the house. The vent does not eliminate 100% of the odor, but I do notice that the smell disappears within a day or two.
