Alrighty... So I am in the market for a new drip maker. (The old one bit the dust today). Are there any smoking-hot deals out there on quality makers? I want something that will make loads of good coffee for years to come. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles...

Thanks in advance, guys!

bunn. hundred bucks, and it will make simple and consistent coffee for decades. also, a wire mesh basket helps a LOT for mouthfeel of cup, and should be available at most grocery stores at this point.

IMO if you want GOOD coffee, do slower methods, like pour-over. if you want GREAT coffee, be prepared to pay. but the bunn works for me for my daily fix. and performs awfully well for a simple machine.

These. (in the order I'd recommend them). :)

You absolutely get what you pay for when it comes to a drip machine. The main problem with drip coffee makers is that 98% of them on the market have two major flaws; 1. They don't heat the water to the correct temperature (195-205 degrees Fahrenheit) & 2. They don't promote thorough extraction by not letting the water & coffee "brew" long enough and/or not "saturating" the grounds completely. All of the machines I just linked to address both of these issues perfectly. Simply put, any of them will make a great cup of coffee & should be the last drip coffee maker you'll ever buy. Don't even get me started on espresso... :p

Did someone say espresso? :)
Haha. I'm just glad you spelled it right, Geoff. :)
Ha, I'm a slow learner.

Sean, just don't get a Kurig...however the hell you spell it. I was given one as a birthday gift after my beloved drip machine died. It's not that it doesn't make an ok cup of coffee, it's just a huge pain in the ass.

Have a tecnivorm for the last two years and it's been great. Quick brew and no fancy gadgets. Before that all the other brands lasted us just over a year.

If not, we can pretend there is.

So, will you be the head tit on this one?
