Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
Bombing sucks up alot of sticksA buddy of mine asked how much I've spent on gars since I got started in September of 2014. I had no idea. I make all my purchases on one card so I decided that today, I'd download the last nine months of purchases and pick out the cigar spend.
AND.......
Inception to date, I'm at $4500! And I didn't even include the lighters, wineadoor, humidor, cutters etc.
If I do the math, assuming one stick per day over 270 days at $7 average per stick I should be closer to $1900. Where the hell is the remaining $2600 of cigar stock??? I'd estimate I've got about $800 of current inventory. Something is not adding up....
Anyway, thought it would be interesting to hear what others' total spend on cigars has been since day one for newbs and say the past year for the more seasoned brothers.
^^^THIS^^^Ignorance is bliss
That sounds absolutely insane, I never went to Vermont. He headed off for that modern Sodom -- Burlington, Vermont -- then returned two weeks later, stony broke and hung over. The young man sat and took a reckoning -- where did Aunt Lettie's 600 gold pieces go?
"Well," he thought, "I spent 150 of them on alcoholic beverages, including tax; 150 on sightly women, which were also somewhat taxing; and 150 on cigars." But what of those last 150 gold pieces, where did they go? "Them,' concluded the young man, 'I must have squandered."
Double Likemore than I should...
but less than I want to...
True story.Still not as much as I have spent on my automobile hobby.
True story.
Though, for me that hobby has been on back burner for a few years now, the cigars may be getting close. At least that tends to be more durable goods, though track days get pricey.
Homebrewing on the other hand is another consumable hobby. When I'm brewing I'll go through $200/mo in grain/hops/water/chems. Took a hiatus recently, but trying to get back into it.
