  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Easy guys, watch the bashing. I know the creators of that truck. I do a lot of custom work like that as a hobby in my free time. I have been around the mini truck / low rider seen for around 15 years now.

That truck first rolled out in early 2003, 2 young kids from Eksessiv Kustoms wanted to get there shop from Texas know. So they got that hummer sold to them for cost. They body dropped it, added an air suspension and a turbo V12.

They then rolled it out at the SEMA show and everyones jaws dropped. That became the new staple for mini trucks and it took the US rapidly. Once they got back to Texas they had people lining up to get work done. They have done work for actors/rockers/rappers etc. They have now moved on to be part of Socal Customs. they rolled that truck out at SEMA with TV's in it, 24 inch wheels, new paint and a matching trailer with 24 inch wheels and air suspension.

They also rolled it out with this in 2004 one.

Those trucks have made a career for those kids and lengends in that type of scene.

When I have time I will see if I can find other pictures. with trailer another view rear view

Turbo V12 is impressive. The link is no go Derek. I can't imagine the fab work in that thing.

But to drop a hummer???

Well I'm not into low-rides ... so to me this is also rather ugly. I never really understood the desire to have extreme hydraulics so your car body could be raised and lowered. :dunno:

But I do admire the hard work and engineering it took to create these.

Sorry, but at first look I thought ghetto myself (not a racial thing). Of course I am ignorant as to what goes into something like this and have none of these skills. I like some modifications to cars like some racing hood scoops with large blowers showing and beefing up the engines and tranny. But for me it is a complete waste of money making modifications such as the frame what appears to be on the ground. This falls under my other car peeves: curb feelers, those noisy extra large mufflers on small cars, adding tail fins, bad tinted glass windows, super low side molding, and the hydraulic features. All this vehicle needs is spinners and would be complete. I can not believe they forgot the fking spinners.

That hummer is definitely tucking! Pimpin' ain't easy homie!

No seriously, I don't like it but at the same time everyone doesn't have my tastes. I would feel the same about any 4x4 that is lowere/has big wheels, etc.

Sorry, I don't get the lo-rider thing and they bug me. V-12's impressive as has been said, but that's just plain ugly to me. And without knowing about the air suspension it looks idiotic.

Nah...I don't like it either...but what the hell.

I can appreciate the work and skill involved even if I don't like the look. Besides, it's their Hummer, their money, and their time.

I just don't see how that makes 'em "F'in Morons." Hell, if they turned around and made it a lucrative business, I'd say they just might be far from it.

I used to be into the whole custom car scene... been to NOPI multiple times, I just dont like the H2 slammed like that... yes it is great use of airbags and everything i dont know i just dont like the look of the "mini-truck" I would rather see the H2 with 26's then on bags....

I don't like it either but I don't like the "ghetto" look on anything and yes, that's what it is. On the ground with air bags and huge wheels. I hope it's a fad that dies a painful death although in this case I'd like it to be a fast death. What makes me extremely angry is when someone does that to a vintage car and makes a hopper out of it, twisting the frame beyond repair and causing all sorts of damage to the underside. It makes me sick.

I mean no offense to you or them Derek but that's a genre' of autos I can do without. I'm not saying any more, I will piss off a lot of people if I do.
