There was an interesitng article in Tuesday's Wall Street Journal. It covered the increasing number of farmers returning to growing tobacco in the US since 2004. This is happening because the government tobacco subsidiy program ended that year ... so now they can plant as many acres as they want and sell it for a better profit on the open market.

BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I liked reading that too. I couldn't believe how much profit they got per acre compared to other crops. Even though the US is very anti tobacco, there is still high demand in other countries.
