  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I was looking for a internet security suite for my laptop. It runs vista and would like a firewall and virus program. I have norton 360 and it is garbage. Just wanted to know what other people are running that will not hog all of the resources on my machine.
thanks

I will use avg and windows defender and see how it goes. If I am not happy I will try zone alarm. I read a lot about zone alarm and vista having problems. Maybe the bugs are worked out. Thanks for the suggestions.

Do you have a router? Routers have a firewall built in too thats usually better than a software based firewall.

Between AVG and Windows defender you should be more than secure. However, the fact that you are using Vista means you may still run into compatability issues that are inherent in Vista. I hated Vista, reinstalled XP Pro.
