  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

OK I really didn't want to bring this up but I feel I would be remiss in my duties as a board member and new poster if I didn't break news on this touchy subject and before you start, I'm in as much shock and disbelieve as you will be. General as introduced the Macanudo 1968 oK, that wasn't so hard.
I smoked one of these the other night in a blind tasting. I will repeat a blind tasting. Started out a little harsh but after 2 or 3 draws evened out. This cigar refused to quit getting better. The complexities continued till the strong finish made me really think I had something worth repeating here. I know there's nothing i can say that will not draw every criticism thats well deserved from the cigar maker that has little respect from serious cigar smokers but, I have to tell you this is the real deal. I found a promo link and for $10 (shipping included) you get 3 to try. How can you lose with this.

Thanks for the link, I just ordered 3. I think Macanudo cigars are allright, I used to smoke them on the golf course regularly, I still reccomend them to new smokers.

There were some people who were in love with the Jamaican Mac's for years. I have had some and never was impressed, but they were a quality made product.

Perhaps they are capable of great things.

The first year I was into smoking (about 7-8 yrs ago), I loved the macs! They stood apart from the rest in quality & flavor. Over time - I got sick of them & of course developed a taste for stronger & more compex cigars. I checked out what different people had to say about this new one & have heard nothing but good... Needless to say - I grabbed the 3fer... In the meantime, I'm going to go & light something Pepin.

The new Macanudo 1968s are supposed to be completely different. I talked to Cooper, the VP of marketing at General Cigar, and the first thing he did was recognize Macanudo's reputation of tasting like lightly-toasted air (my words, not his), and that the new Macanudo 1968 was a medium-full bodied cigar that will (hopefully) draw more smokers towards Macanudos.

I'm excited to try mine.

So no one here who visited the trade show saw the RyJ Museum Edition?
I dont remember seeing one but it could be in my photos somehwere, I know that they are very limited about 65 boxes worldwide and 36 to a box at $30 a stick, so figure the numbers, they may have had A box there, but dont remember seeing it as I did nto get a chance to spend much time at Altidus or General, they need to make the show about a day or two longer or extend the hours.
