Just got a box of Monti #2's from a good source but since I'm a noob not sure if this is normal. It's kind of a green brown color that looks almost like mud. No texture to it and I can't brush any of it off. What's your thoughts?

I also had the same looking color spots on some other sticks in the order. They did open and inspect so thinking they are okay.

I've got a box of monte 1s from 2009 with the same coloration in a few spots. nothing to worry about imo. they have smoked just fine so far, believe they are water spots.

Either water, or just something a bit different discoloration in the leaf. Nothing to worry about as long as they aren't spreading.

Few of mine have had those here or there.

Another vote for water spots. A minor fermentation issue which is negligible, and relatively common with habanos in general. Smoke them and enjoy.

Sometimes cuban tobacco will develope greenish patches as the sticks age, this is just refermenting of the tobacco.

Your spots may be incomplete initial fermentation,it should go away.

Mostly it could happen if some liquid caught up with the surface. not water but something else i presume
