I am so sorry. It is so hard to deal with helping a loved one. I also lost my father a long while back to a slow and debilitating disease. It's very hard on the whole family. The one thing I can say though is that it is nice to know ahead of time so that family can get things right in relationships to prepare for these moments. It's crazy, I had a moment almost exactly like yours where you know something is wrong and you instantly snap into action. It's a mind boggling thing. Your father is resting in a much better place now where the physical world can no longer hurt him. It's a odd thing because it is sad to see a loved one go but in a way it is good to know the suffering has ended. I will smoke a cigar for you tonight and say a prayer.
