I've never had a J Fuego cigar, but I keep hearing about them & how good they are. So while at Atlantic Cigar company in Stroudsburg, PA (great selection btw) - I saw that they had the full line & even the brand new 777's. It was recomended as a 'must-try' so I picked one up of the Delirium & the 777.
Late last night I decided to break it out (yeah - I saved my J21 for another night!) - & I felt compelled to let ya'll in on this one!
- Good construction, firm & fresh - only a slight gap where the cap started to peal. As soon as I took it out of the celo I noticed the smell... This may be the nicest smelling pre-light cigar I've ever had. I had not even lit this & it already had me salivating...
- Clean cut, perfect light, perfect draw...
- This had the classic maduro tastes - very chocolaty, sweet & rich with espresso. I also picked up alot of spice in the first dozen pulls and then that mellowed out... It did came back, and stronger in the final third.
- I would clasify this as a full-bodied & strong smoke - the flavors changed from spicy to sweet & back again, it was interesting with each puff.
- The burn line stayed straight & even the whole way & I held on to this until there was about 3/4 of an inch left.
Overall, I would highly recommend this cigar to the 'initiated', not for the new smoker - unless they start off liking it real strong!
I'll be picking up some more at about $7 ea - this is a good value & a real occasion-smoke after a fine meal with some fellow smokers. I expect to see this very highly rated this year!
Now I'm ready to try the 777...
To be continued...
