You have to be nominated by a member to become a member.
I'm not personally a member, but know someone who is. It's a nice fan club type of thing, you "own" a plot on their fields and they give you pretty funny updates on your land ("on your plot two sunflowers are growing...") They also mail you gifts/swag once or twice a year (shot glasses and the like).

LOL! Its more than just updates on your land and animals and such. We go to the distillery a couple of times a year, and they have a "squire room" where apparently you get exclusive access to all JD products and taste testing . Ive always wanted to get in that room!
