  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Brooks,

Directly from Janny Garcia:

Eric, this is not fhe same cigar that Jaime and Pepin are rolling together, that gonna be My Father. We made Jaime Reserva last year for the big event we had in Cigar Inn but we decided to start with the regular production one month later because a lot of people called to the factory asking for that cigar, anyway, we received the first shippment from Nica last week so by next week it gonna be in the stores. Glad u liked it.
Regards,
Janny
Waiting on confirmation on blend / wrapper and sizes

I paid $5.95 for the Petit Robustos. Don't buy them until Saturday, as Casa de Montecristo is having a 25% off sale. These are nice sticks, more on the mild side than typical Pepin.

Yep, if that is the same cigar, it is a HELL of a price...It was a pretty great stick...In fact, at that price, I think it is UNDER valued...

I agree, Brooks. If I had to guess, it would be over a $10 stick. Just the way it's packed, burned, light gray almost silver looking ash, and great taste... You can't go wrong with this one for the price. The wrapper is nice, toothy, dark and thick.

Here is information from Janny on the JG Reserva Especial

Janny said:
Yes, it's the same blend and wrapper. Filler is all Nicaragua and Broadleaf wrapper. Sizes : Petit Robusto ( 4½ x 50),Belicoso ( 5½ x 52), Toro ( 6 x 54), Robusto ( 5¼ x 52), Toro Gordo ( 6 x60). The original size ( Cigar Inn) was 6 x 56. Prices are very good, I saw the post at the BOTL forum and some of them are talking about the cigar that Pepin is making by himself it's only one size. Jaime's prices are between 6.50 - 8.90.

Ha, sadly I was not there, just saw this picture elsewhere.

As for this stick, if they are anything like the Cigar Inn sticks, and it seems they are sans the size, they are an amazing stick for the price. Probably the best smoke / price point I have seen in a LONG time.....

Pick up a box or two if you can cause these bad boys are excellent....

Folks,
We are expecting these any time now. We had John Gonzalez (the national sales manager) give us some samples at the shop last week. To reiterate, it is a fantastic cigar with similarities to other Pepin sticks but also with some uniqueness which would come from Jaime blending vs his father. John also confirmed the very reasonable price range that has already been discussed. The expensive stick rolled by Pepin is called La Reloba and will be out later this year. Hope this helps.

Ok, Jaime Garcia Reserve and la Reloba are not the same cigar that Pepin is rolling by himself. The Jaime Garcia is in store right now and La Reloba will be in 2 weeks. La Reloba comes in two diferent wrappers ( Habano and Sumatra).Prices for both are very affordable. The My Father Special Edition will be ready for IPCPR, only 24,000 cigars, size 6½ x 52 in boxes of 12 and price won't be over $20 per stick. Hope this helps.
