  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I was in a local cigar shop, and saw that he had some of the Java cigars.

Ok, I thought, I don't take myself so seriously that I won't smoke a flavored cigar.
So, I bought a couple.

Today I stopped by Havanna Dreams, and they suddenly had these in stock. Since I had not tried any of the ones I got,

I purchased one to smoke while I was there, admiring a Humidor I was considering purchasing.

First thing I did was bought myself a cup of coffee, and wet my lips with the cigar.

The Java is a nice looking cigar, with simple bands near the cap and at the foot
(Rocky Patel cue). Out of the cello, the cigar looks like a squarish coffee bean.
A coffee bean with veins, and aroma confirms the Java name.

Even without lighting it, I can admit, i tasted the Java/Coffee flavor right away. This was promising.
When I lit the cigar, it kept that same flavor, but the pull seemed a bit light. Even if I pulled hard, I could only

get a little smoke going into my mouth. Most of the flavor was comming from the taste of the wrapper and not the smoke really.

The cigar was lightweight, and spongy to the touch.

The cap was also a bit delicate.

Although it did not feel very firm, it did burn perfectly even, and the ash was strong and held for a while. The ash was a nice white, and had a subtle sweet aroma.

Overall the cigar was ok, nothing special, didn't tickle me the way I hopped. Not really worth the money in my opininion,
although I guess it would make a decent morning, or desert cigar with a cup of coffee.

Not really sure when I will jump to smoke the other 2 I have, but I will get around to them. Or if anyone wants to trade,
I have 2 I am willing to part with.

I smoke one maybe a couple of times a year, usually when I just want a real change of pace to reboot my palate. Good advice re: keeping 'em out of your regular humidor. I have a couple in a tupperdor that I reserve for Javas.

I've had the Wafe, and enjoyed it thouroughly with a cup of coffee after dinner. I grabbed 3 of them at the "OMG you are overpriced" B&M at a large outdoopr mall. Like $7 a piece. I got the other two for the wife and her friend we were hanging out with. They both liked them as well. Just to help you out on the trader rating, I'll trade you for them. What size are they? Pm coming.

One of my friends likes these, wanted to find some. I didn't think they were still making them, but I haven't been to a shop that carried them in a while.

Not to sound snooty, but never had a desire to try these or any other flavored cigars.
When I was a kid, I was a ridiculously picky eater. Would eat just a few things, and wouldn't even try anything else. One night, I was complaining about how yucky something on the dinner table looked, and my big brother turned to me and said, "Don't knock it if you haven't tried it." I thought about what he said and concluded that he was right.

You might hate these or love them, but you will never know for sure until you try one.

yep. these are one of the only flavored cigars I can stomach. They don't have that super sugary syrupy taste that a lot of other do.

Great story and all....but I think some things you just know you won't like.

I don't have to try a baked turd to know I won't like it.

RP 10th year = Actually its RP ITC 10th year (I really like this cigar).
Fuente Chateau = This is correct, I tried 2 so far, and liked them both.
