With an acquisition like Guillermo's there is always worry about what benefits are going to carry over, what are going to be done away with, etc. Rather then hassle with those things he may have decided to leave before any changes were made to collect properly and come back because he is so very passionate about this hobby we all love.

Perhaps. In the DR, retirement benefits are rare; or at least that is my understanding.
