I picked up a box of JL1 (SEA Feb 16) from a reputable vendor, but have some suspicions on their authenticity. Near as I can tell everything checks out, but they just seem bigger than a 46 RG. After pulling a band off one, I can see that it says 50 on the one end whereas cubancigarwebsite.com shows "48 - 52".

Thoughts?

those would be JL #2 bands.
necessary in this instance with oversized JL 1s...........
don't expect Cuba to adhere to any hard fast rules in cigar production........

Those are fine. It wouldn't even be worth the effort to fake these. Very good cigar IMHO but you can pick them up at a very reasonable price. Also it is not widely known as one of the big Cuban biggies.
