Just admitted to ASU

I never went to college after HS. Went into the family business and led our leap into computers. Been doing IT work for 25 years, but now I'm working on a 2 year programming degree at the local Community College. I'm 53, lol.
Working full time it's going to take more than 2 years.
I like you, am doing much better at this age than in HS.

That is awesome that is what I want to do. We need to support our Vets.

Yesterday I went to Phoenix to meet my new advisers. I hate driving in Phoenix I am from a small area of Arizona. First stop was the VA to meet my new Voc Rehab counselor. That last all of 15 minutes. He sent me to Tempe to the main campus to meet the Veterans Rep. for ASU. I did not know were I was going. But after a phone call found the her office. Went to Fumars to get some sticks only there a few minutes. Then off to downtown Phoenix to meet my new adviser. Did I mention I do not like driving in the city. I better get use to it I guess. He was good got me lined up with what I need to do. By the time I got done I was ready to get out of town. It was a good experience though. I am now registered for my first semester at ASU. I am ready to start my classes now.

I am excited to be going to a bigger school now from a community college.

WOW that is awsome congatulations. What you will be doing will make a differance in so many peoples lives. You are doing a good thing for the most Important people in our society (the people that protect our liberties).

Congrats!!!!! I feel your joy. I just got accepted into the University of Pittsburgh. This has been a while in the making for me.

Congratulations, and good luck next semester! I taught some college classes (math) when I was in graduate school, and I have to say that most of my favorite students were older "non-traditional" students. (I still keep in touch with one of them.) Older students are usually in college because they genuinely want to be there, and tend to take more responsibility for their own education, while being much less demanding/entitled than 18-19 year olds can be.
That goes even more so for the military veterans in my classes. Not once did any one of them come to my office with some BS excuse or sob story if things didn't go exactly as they had planned. They tended to do well (military discipline, I suppose), but either way, they accepted responsibility and didn't complain (at least to me).
