Kirkland Signature Tawny Porto

I'm drinking this now with a Little Boris. What a pair! This porto is not always available at my Costco, but when it is, I buy. If you have not tried it, do so. The best port I've had...and I love port.

It's sweet, but the complexity is way off the norm. It's about $16 per. Great buy. I'm a six year newb when it comes to cigars, but I know porto. Trust me

I've never seen it here in Costco land... they have another Port I always buy but I've never seen Kirkland brand. Thanks for the heads up, will look for it.

Of course I saw this thread before I went grocery shopping this afternoon. As soon as I saw a bottle of tawny port in my neighborhood Fresh N Easy, it went in to the basket.

I am new to Port but i recently had a bottle of Sandeman Founders Reserve and found it to be very tasty.

I did some digging on this:

Costcos 10 year old Tawny Porto is made by Fonseca Guimaraens....184 year old wine making family to which they are one of a handful of Portuguese port producers. I've been to Portugal a few times and just didn't pay enough attention to this brand but next time....I'll keep my eyes open.

The store in SD where I buy is the Fenton Parkway location (next door to Qualcomm Stadium).

When we are in San Diego for the summer we go to this one as well...right by IKEA so we end up spending too much at both places. We're right over in City Scene.

They stock about 15 bottles every few months. I buy Fonseca when they are out of the Signature. There is no comparison.

Costco here carries Six Grapes and a couple other ports, but I can't remember ever seeing their house brand.
