BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Richard's responded out of anger. He used the most effective words to deliver that anger and they happened to be racist words. It does not mean he is a racist. He might be. I'm not saying he isn't. Certainly not defending his incredibly bad behavior. He just chose the most effective words to convey his emotion.
He has a problem, we all know that.. I laughed because when we went on the cruise the comic on stage knew my name 10 minnutes into the show and when I went to the bathroom he called me out in front of everybody...

Every other channel than BET.
What would be included on white entertainment television? Don't most of the shows on TV revolve around white culture or the rich black culture? I just don't understand the statement. I'm not saying blacks don't like the history channel or ESPN or the like. I'm saying that since white people are the majority, most shows on TV revolve around white culture. I believe BET is needed for a culture that doesn't want to watch rich white wives have sex with their neighbors. I mean there are Christian stations for Christians and there is a channel that embraces black culture. I don't see why that would upset anyone.
With that said, I do not like reverse racism. But, let me defend Chappel here. He makes fun of every culture in his comedy. He certainly makes fun of his own much like Chris Rock. With that said, if a white comedian did that he would be boo'd off stage and that is just wrong. I have no problem with Rock or Chappel, I do have a problem with the double standard.

this double standard pisses me off...come one, let's go somewhere where we can say what we want. I'm buying an island!
The double standard is indeed messed up. There is a pretty good book out there written by a black scholar talking about this thing in particular it's called White Guilt. He is against the double standard and this "need" for many whites to prove they are not racist.
Tom, I totally understand that. It erks me to no end. Someday there will be a white comic brave enough to test the waters and actually make people laugh. I personally like racial comedy. If we can't laugh at ourselves then I think we take are taking ourselves too serious. And, when Chris Rock starts his tirades on his own...you have to admit alot of it is stuff you think but don't say. If white comics could do the same, it might actually break down some of the racial walls through humor.
