I've heard that's a common problem on them, though I can't give first-hand testimony towards it. I've heard people say that has happened to them every time they've smoked one.

I've smoked a few without issues, but I have seen a lot split like that. It's a shame, because they are awesome smokes.

Worst constructed $20 stick on the market.

These weren't worth $10/stick IMO. So yes, have seen this before.....from several others, as well as personally.

The flavors are there, but damn for $15-$20 I am disappointed. Maybe the 09's will be better.

This is the reason why I havent even touched any of mine. I know for 15-20 bux you shouldnt have to wait, but I don't want to be disappointed. Thanks for the pics.

Just wondering, and maybe it doesn't matter, but is this the Robusto? (Looking at the photos, it appears to be the Robusto size.) Anyway, I've heard of more construction issues with the Robusto than with the Churchill. Have only had a couple of Robustos and was fortunate to not have experienced any problems. The Churchills are impeccably made and have developed into one of the best NC's out there, IMO.

I've smoked probably 10-15 of these (robusto and churchill) and I'm yet to have any crack or have burn issues. Maybe I just got super ultra lucky?

What happened to the wrapper in the first pic? I've smoked through a ten count and had only one wrapper issue.

Had one of the churchills crack but the rest have been fine. I think I have 5 of both sizes left out of the boxes I bought.

Plan on smoking one of each for the next 5 summers. See how they settle down as we go.
