    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Let's give credit where credit is due. The Lakers were the best team in the league this year, and they proved it last night. I can't stand them, but how can anyone argue against them now?

I have to admit that part of my original quote was meant to show my Celtic bias. Russell over Chamberlain: Clearly, Wilt was the single most dominant player (in his era) the league had ever seen. I'll still take Russell because of defense, heart, and leadership. Bird over Magic: I love Bird, but to me, this one really has to be a tie. Don't know how you justify one over the other. Parish over Kareem: This one was the joke. Kareem is the greatest big man ever, hands down. McHale over Worthy: In all seriousness, this was one I didn't even think was close. I'd take McHale without hesitation. I checked career stats, and though they are close, McHale's are better. Guess when you're talking about two of the 50 greatest of all time, you can argue either side with any two players.

And of course the Celts were lucky to land Garnett. And the Lakers were lucky to have Kobe; and the Bulls were lucky to have Jordan, and the Cavs are lucky to have Lebron. To those who question his ability after this year's loss, I have a couple of questions. 1. How long did it take the greatest player ever (Jordan) to win his first title? (answer, I think, is 7 years) 2. How many titles did the aforementioned Wilt win in his entire career? (answer: 2) 3. Which of Lebron's teammates is anything other than a journeyman player? (answer: none) No matter how good a player is, he can't win without at least one other outstanding player by his side.

I don't get this statement. I can understand as far as bandwagon fans, but what about us that are actually from LA and have been watching for years. Used to watch the Lakers in the Great Western Forum as a kid.

I've stuck with the same team, how is that lame?

Hating on teams because they huge fan bases? Now that's lame!

I agree with you there, but it's not just Yankees and Laker fans. IMHO, Soccer fans are the most fanatical.

I've never hated a team because of it's fans. Even the the Pistons fans in their hay day. :fencing: Or the Celtic fans of today :agreesmil
