Linear Algebra Anyone?

So Im working on a problem trying to make a couple of matrices have equal first mode eigenvalues.

This is a wide flat plate, and Im adding a stiffness to the middle node of translation in the thin direction.

So if I have Y and X matrices, and adding an unknown stiffness K, how would I solve to find this K?

Does this have to be done numerically?
