Everyone remember their first ever gun purchase? I was told by my father to keep my first gun forever. I'm very glad I listened.

Love it or hate it, show off your first gun.
Did you keep it? If not why?
If you still have it, how long have the two of you been together?

My Sig Sauer P220 Equinox in .45 ACP. Bought it a few weeks after turning 21.

Ruger 10/22, it was my dads that he gave to me on my 11th birthday. My first purchase was a 12ga shotgun, first pistol purchase is my Kimber Ultra-Carry II .45.

Still have all three.

I don't have a picture of my first gun. I'd have to dig it out of the safe to snap one. But it's a Remington 1100LW .410. When I received it from my grandfather it was never fired before and in perfect condition. I've had it for 18 years and have only put 20 rounds through it. I'm looking forward to passing it down to my children when they are old enough.

Ahh... My first gun. Well the one I actually saved up for and paid for with my own money was a Glock 30. Well over 10 years ago. I still have it.

First shotgun was a Remington 870 pump, first pistol a Ruger P89 9 mm. Still have and use both.

Mosin-Nagant M91/30 made in 1936. It had a sporterized stock, which I dislike, so it's become my range gun.

Good ole 7.62x54r kicks like a mule and the metal strip on the stock didn't help.. that thing bruised me up pretty good but it was accurate.

I've got a cheapo stock pad that works well with it. Makes it much easier.

This thread brings back great memories. Had to go to the safe to take a pic. My granddad gave this to me when I was a kid. I've had it 20 years and it shots like a dream. Makes me miss my grandad though.

First one I paid for... Savage Arms break open 20ga. My son used it last dove season, been with me since I was about 7 or 8. Looks like Hell though...no pic

Kimber 1911 Super Carry Custom. Got it one year ago this month. Love it to death, shoots like a dream. My dad's family the men always get a handgun when they turn 21 from our fathers and always keep them. I will have this until the day I die and will give it to my firstborn son in my will.

No pics but my first gun was a West Germany SIG P228 made in 1994. I bought it lightly used about 4-5 years ago. Sadly its still the only gun I own. For now...

My first gun was a Mossberg 500 in camo with a slug/shot barrel package. I got it to kill animals and it has done its job well thus far.

My first gun was an old stevens .22 rifle i got from a buddy. My first handgun was a smith and wesson md 908 which I love. I want to get its big brother in the near future.
