  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Looking back

Not anymore. All I see is a lot of great guys that have come and gone. (On those old threads) Really active guys with thousands of posts and lots of time here. Gone. Only a few left.

Yeah, that is kinda rough. It makes you wonder what happened to a lot of guys. You never know some may still be stalking the forum.

It was interesting to read some of that, to see people posting pictures of their families, children... etc.

I hope some of the gents I've had the pleasure of meeting (in person and virtually) don't leave this forum. I like it here because of you guys, the group that is active now and who've welcomed me in.

I just wish we ALL lived on the same block!

Yeah I think people can get burnt out on forums after a while, once you've seen the same threads started 100 times, and shared all of your personal stories and experiences a few times you can get bored and seek out something new. I think many of you guys that have met in person have a special bond that is pretty evident by your posts and your sharing of cigars, gifts, etc. This is one of the more tight knit forums that I belong to were the talk back and forth is more than just mindless banter.

Thats what I was thinking (Where did they go & Why) I was looking at one Guy who posted everyday multiple time then all of a sudden one day GONE. So weird But MDSPhoto's comments make sense. I let me curiosity get the better of me.

As one who left and has now returned, I can say that oft times we leave as a result of having to create some margin in our lives. For me, I was dealing with some family issues, working, leading up two ministries, coaching High School football in addition to mentoring a couple of men. I just had to set some boundaries in order to be the man that I claimed to be. I can recall some of the friendships (and I mean friendships) that I developed here, how much I learned and the bond between brothers (and sisters). Like Hoshneer stated, I lurked and I longed for this place.

I am so grateful that life has settled and I have come home.

I just have one question... Where the hell is David Price?

That's one reason I quit posting for a long time and don't post much anymore. Most of the guys I "met" early on when the forum was new are gone. That's not saying anything bad about the rest of you, I just don't know you yet.

There you go brother. Oneaday was the king of sharing the share and a true baller. He truly would have given you e shirt off his back, I miss Ken. But like most of us, real life and priorities change.
